Jerzy Buzek
Member of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek is Vice-president of the European Energy Forum since 2004, a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and of the Temporary Committee on Climate Change.
Prime Minister of Poland from 1997 to 2001, he has been a member of Solidarność trade union since 1980.
Professor of technical sciences, formerly researcher at the Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gliwice and at the University of Cambridge, he authored more than 200 research papers and three patents in the fields of environmental protection, power and process engineering.
Representative of Poland at the International Energy Agency - Programme of Greenhouse Gas Effect (1992-1997), Professor Buzek holds honorary doctorates of the Universities of Dortmund, Seoul, Isparta and Opole.
