World CTL 2008 will host the World CTL Award ceremony - see “Program” and “World CTL Award”
Jannie Scholtz, 44, is Manager of Technology and Business Development within Sasol Synfuels International (SSI). In this role he supports SSI’s vision of levering Sasol’s Fischer-Tropsch technology in establishing new Gas-to-Liquids and Coal-to-Liquids ventures globally, with special effort to minimize and deal with CO2 off gasses in an environmentally responsible manner.
Prior to that, Jannie served in several positions in research for Sasol Technology. Among others, he led research in the fields of reactor design, catalysis and separation technology. In specific, Jannie was involved in developing the first multiphase model to describe the Sasol’s Slurry Phase Fisher-Tropsh Reactor. Furthermore he participated in extensive piloting work to confirm the validity of the model and to demonstrate the viability of the technology.
Jannie holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo as well as a Masters in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
